Goal and Potential Recommendations

Goal:

The Global Strategic Planning Meeting goal is to explore existing research and needs for primary and secondary school teacher training and to develop recommendations for both pre-service and in-service teacher training within the framework of the new World Program for Human Rights Education (2005 - 2007).

Potential Recommendations:

Some initial ideas for potential recommendations and follow-up might include:

Regional Meetings in support of the Strategic Planning outcomes.
Financial and human support to implement regional meetings.
A Web-based support structure for Strategic Planning Meeting Participants.
An exchange of regional HRE trainers to learn by observing training in another region.
A Global Conference on Human Rights Education for Primary and Secondary Teacher Training to foster a global association for human rights educators.
