Community Connections:

The St.Cloud Human Rights Commission received a human rights action grant within This is My Home to enable participants (both educators in area schools and members of Human Rights Commission) to:

- document specific ways in which human rights education is already taking place in public schools in District 742

- develop strategies for the further development of human rights education in these schools, in ways that build upon existing strengths and that are guided by educators' own goals

-implement these strategies.

The project aims to achieve the following impacts:

- improved understanding of human rights, and of actions that promote human rights

- growing relationship between area schools, the Human Rights Commission, and other resource people and organizations in the St. Cloud area focused on human rights issues.
