This is My Home: A MN Human Rights Education Experience
  • Annual conference theme for 2003 was “the Lessons of Brown vs. Board of Education Topeka.”
  • League launched a website link  with the Human Rights Center.
  • A Somali meeting was sponsored by the League and the Minneapolis Chief of Police, St. Paul Chief of Police, Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, MDHR and the FBI. Meetings were held in Minneapolis, Rochester, St. Cloud and Fridley.
  • The League presented at the “Rural Policy and Development of Cities of Minnesota organization in St. Cloud.
  • The REHaB (Reducing and Eliminating  Hate Behavior) program was launched, with meetings, training sessions and Guidebook distribution  to REHaB team members.
  • HRC reactivated in Anoka in aftermath of a hate crime incident in that community.
  • The League responded to a hate graffiti incident at Bethel College.
  • A series of 10 regional meetings around the state began to address the post 9-11-01 hate crimes. The first such meeting was conducted in Woodbury titled: “Interreligious and inter-Ethnic Responses to Hate and Bigotry — An Action Oriented Exchange of Experiences and Programs.” About 65 persons attended.
  • The League responded to a hate incident in Eagan.
  • As of March 20, 2004, REHaB counseling has been provided for 5 individuals convicted of hate crimes.
