KIDS' WORLD INTERNATIONAL!

My name is Princess Chomilo Kisob. I am fourteen years old, and I am in ninth grade. I started this project when I was 12 years old, but I had the idea first when I was 11. I attended Inter District Downtown School in Minneapolis, and am now a student at Hopkins North Junior High. I have been nominated three times to represent my school and the community at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) in Washington D.C.

My thoughts started about the Kids' World program when I went to court with my mom. It was 'Take Your Child to Work Day'. My mom, Bri Chomilo, is an Advocate who works with immigrant & refugee families. I am very interested in what she does. She talks to families about deportable crimes. So in the summer of 2002 I thought about developing my own program with I&R youths. The program would educate them about deportable crimes, how it affects their stay in the United States, how to stay out of trouble, and to be violence- free.

I am hoping for this web site to educate and impower immigrant and refugee youths around the world.
